On Photoshop 2020 using Windows 10 64bts - I had to reinstall Creative Cloud and Ps20. When opening Ps20 I get a blank screen with only the task bar showing. I can open a file and work on it, but the "file save as" command does not react and my file is not saved. When closing and reopening Ps the file just opened and closed does not show up in the work space as it shouod. I did a complete anti virus check and closed the firewall but this had no impact. I refered tis to the Adobe help center but so far they have not idicated a solution.  Thank you for any assistance or advice.

Hi there,

We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop on your Windows computer. Did you remove the preferences of Photoshop when you uninstalled the application? Are you able to open files in Photoshop by going to the File menu > Open?

Since you have mentioned that you are getting a blank screen when launching the application please try the steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-home-screen-issues.html

Let us know if it helps!

Regards,

Nikunj

Thank you for your answer. Yes I am able to open files by going to the files menu. I then can work on the opened file with no prblem. But when finished nothing happens when I click on "file save as"

I atempted to navigate to the app data directory as explained in your reply to make sure that UXPLogs.txt has read/write permission but AppData it is not listed in the c:/users/myname and I cannot locate it.

I alos tried to restore default preferences when opening  Photoshop while clicking on Ctrl+Alt+Shift but this did not solve the problem.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,

The Appdata folder is generally hidden by default. You can go to any folder and type ' %appdata% ' in the top bar and then hit return to access the folder.
