On screen Surface Go keyboard not popping up with type tool

The keyboard pops up when I go to change the name of the layer but nothing when I use the type tool. This is a all of a sudden problem, was working fine yesterday. I do not have a separate keyboard so this makes adding font impossible.

What Hardware and software are you using  Windows and Mac OS need a keyboard. On windows  in tablet mode I would think the on screen keyboard would be an OS function and if it did not automatically pop open you can use a touch ICON or gesture to open the keyboard when needed. I do not believe OSX has a Touch tablet mode of operation. If the Text tool is the current tool I would thing ttouching the image window would enter text input mode and popup the keyboarded in tablet mode. Are you sure your windows machine is in tablet mode.

Try resetting Photoshop Preferencess and make sure your windows is in tablet mode.
