Hi. In the first screenshot, you are opening a PDF, in the second, is an image, two different process event if the original image is the same. When you create a PDF, normally, there is a resampling process, so, is possible that the resolution change. Also, when you open a PDF in Photoshop, there is a rendering process with the resolution that you define in the import PDF window. That means that you can't expect to get the image in Ps with the same size o resolution as the original image.

You could try creating the image at the intended resolution and size, then placing the pdf.

Why are you converting a pdf to a pixel image?

Why do you want a resolution of 300ppi at more than 3m of side lengths?

In this case I open an .ai file

    Again: Why?

Presumably the ai file contains vector and type content and that would be degraded by converting them to image pixels.
