Opening images

I just installed Photoshop, when I try to drag and drop an image I get the error "Could not complete your request because of a program error, if I try to use select one from my computer it does nothing.

Yes it opens in the windows photo viewer and it's not large only 220 KB and I just downloaded it off the internet


Try a Save As in the Photo Viewer with a new name and see if that works.

Hi

We need a little more information:

  • What type of image?
  • Where are you dragging from?
  • Where are you dragging to?
  • When did this start?
  • Is there an error number?
  • Can you clarify what you mean by "use select one from my computer it does nothing"? What are your steps?

It's a .jpg, I'm dragging from my files on my computer, it started right after I dowloaded it, first time using it, there was no error # and right under where it says drag and drop, it has a link to select an image in blue

What happens if you drag the JPG from Mac Finder / Windows File Explorer to another part of the Home Screen? It should work anywhere in the screen. Or try dragging the filename to the PS icon in the Mac Dock / Windows Taskbar.
