ACR will only “edit” proprietary raw/open dng files - or rendered TIFF and JPEG. CR preference for JPEG/TIFF handling must be set to to one of the two active options, with the third option being disabled. Another option is to apply ACR as a “filter” from within Photoshop on rendered files.

Hi, I'm struggling to follow what you're saying (not being particularly techy). I'm getting a similar issue when 'Open As' and selecting 'Camera Raw' for Tifs, Jpgs and Pngs. The reason I'm doing this is to enhance the resolution (customers consistently supply low-res files) - when I edit colour as choosing 'camera raw filter' from an already opened file it works fine - but you don't get the super-resolution option. What's gone awry - it works on my colleagues machine!
