Opening PSD files from Adobe Bridge.

Recently upgraded from previous version of CC to CC 2018 using Apple Mac.

Current o.s. is High Sierra but this was also an update on a previous o.s. so my Preferences may not have all transferred over.  I'm going to teach myself Lightroom soon but meanwhile I'm still opening PSD files via Bridge (I know, it's slower).  When I double click an image in Bridge it loads into Photoshop as expected and I can see my Tools Panel on the left hand side and my windows like History etc on the right.  I prefer floating windows, not tabs, so I can compare several images but if I double click additional images they load up but the Bridge workspace stays live and my Photoshop Tools Panel does not appear.  I can only get this if I click on the Photoshop icon in the Mac systems Dock.

In previous versions I could open any number of images and the Photoshop application would be the live workspace.

Does anyone know how I get back to the way it used to happen?  I've been into Preferences and can't see how to change.

Thanks,

Bob

    Correct answer Norman Sanders

    I misunderstood your originals post.

Try this: When in Bridge hold down the Option key as you double-click on succeeding images to be loaded. The Bridge workspace should disappear.

Thanks for your help Norman.  Not quite sure why someone else marked this as the correct answer - although using the option key certainly achieves the desired result and it's what I can easily do in the future.  I was probably being lazy and wanting to do what I'd done in the past by not having to press any keys.  I'm sure Adobe in their infinite wisdom had a reason for changing something that worked just fine in the past!

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Thanks Norman. No luck I’m afraid.

The only ones in Workspace I have checked are Auto-Show Hidden Panels, Enable Floating Docs and Large Tabs. Unchecking any of them doesn’t make any difference either.

    I’m still baffled.
