Opening TIFF on Photoshop

I use Autodesk Sketchbook primarily and am new to the Photoshop realm. My TIFF document, which contains about eight layers, is not opening properly in Photoshop. It is compressing all the layers into one document on layer "0" upon being opening in Photoshop. I went back to Autodesk Sketchbook and made sure that the document for sure had the layers loaded into the TIFF file and tried it again, but whenever I upload it to Photoshop the layers disappear and compress into one. I only started using Photoshop last week so I am super new to everything. I can't tell if it's an issue with my file or maybe something that's not working correctly through the other art program. Anyone know how I could fix this? Thank you.

Only saving your document as a Adobe Photoshop PSD in SketchBook will preserve the layers in photoshop.

Mostly layers in the tiff file format is only supported in Sketchbook itself , but not in other programs.

How to save your work in the different versions of Autodesk SketchBook
