Paint Bucket Ignoring Shapes and Filling Entire Canvas

Hey everyone,

For the past two weeks or so my paint bucket tool has decided to ignore any shapes I have set - literally any, and it seems to only be when I use the shape tool - and fills the entire canvas. First it fills the whole canvas with black, regardless of the color I have selected, and then if I click again it'll fill the whole canvas with my selected color. It doesn't do this on old shapes on old documents, only new documents and if I add a new shape to any older documents. It also won't fill shapes when I set them in the selected color - the shape just won't respond to color at all.

I am using Adobe Photoshop CC 2018.

Does anyone know what this is or why it's happening, and if so, how can I get my paint bucket back?
