Paste problems

Hello, Please can someone help,

When I paste in an item onto my current work, in this case, a logo onto a background of the text,

when I go to move the text, the dotted outline of the logo follows it, and then it also seems to cut out what was beneath it.

I don't quite know how else to describe this. but I have left 2 screenshots to help.

Hi

Hit Ctrl + D to deselect your selection, then you should be able to just move the text

For a MAC it's CMD + D or go to Select > Deselect
