Question

pattern library is empty

My pattern library is empty all of a sudden. All my own patterns are gone. Can't find them anymore. I only see the standard patterns (wood and water etc).

Help! All my work is gone now. What can I do to get my patterns back?

(and what should I do in the future to make sure this doesn't happen anymore?)

Hope someone can help me out and make my day cool again!

thanks!

Janna

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Patterns, Options Bar, …) visible?

Does »Import Patterns« from the Pattern Panel’s dropdown menu locate the default user-folder?

Did you ever save your custom patterns as pat-file/s?

I ever saved my custom patterns. (pretty stupid I know now). They were all just in the pattern library. But not anymore.

I didn't think they could be gone all of a sudden so didn't save them ever.

See screenshot

thanks!

Have you restarted Photoshop since the Patterns disappeared?

If not you might be able to find the old preferences file …

But that the custom patterns are gone might indicate that that file had become corrupted.

Did you use the Patterns in Pattern Layers or Pattern Overlays and still have those psds?
