Pen Tool Glitch, Changes to Path Selection Tool and Freezes.

Everytime I'm using the pen tool lately it will all of the sudden switch to the Path Selection tool and everything freezes, I can no longer use any tools or work on my document... does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening and how it can be fixed?

Having the same issue myself. Did you find a fix? I updated to the latest photoshop and seems to be even worse.

Have you updated to the latest PS? It resolved this issue for me.

What are your specs? OS, peripherals - wacom tablet, etc...

I'm having a similar problem.  I'm using the pen tool (sometimes other tools) and suddenly the pen tool cursor disappears and turns to the path tool. No tools work but I can click through menus add layers etc.  The only thing that works is a complete shutdown and restart.
