Everytime I try to make a selection in photoshop I see a gray box with meaurements. I believe this related to Extras which I have tried to disable but they keep turning back on. Does anyone know how to disable this?

Hi!

You can turn off the Transformative Values in Preferences. From the Preferences menu, choose Tools, and you will see a drop down menu next to "Show Transformative Values" at the bottom of the options--select Never, and click ok.

Let us know if you have any other issues.

Edit - Preferences - Show Transformation Values = set to Never ...

Sorry if I ask in a humble way. If you use the cropping tool to define the area to be cropped and then press return or the little tick icon to get it done it's still the same? I mean that's it not applied?

May I ask what kind of selection tool you use?

I'm using the cropping tool right now, though I also see it with the rectangular and eliptical marquee tools. Since posting I have learned that these are the "transformation values", and can also be seen when using any of the transform tools, such as rotate, scale, etc. The problem is there doesn't appear to be any way to turn them off.
