I have up to 100 jpegs taken in a grid format over a site that I am attempting to merge together.

100 is a lot to combine in one go.  A few questions :

What pixel dimensions are each of the jpegs?

Accounting for overlap,  what pixel size are you expecting the combined image to be?

What is your system spec - RAM and free disk space on your scratch disk?

Without a crash report from the event viewer its impossible to know what really going on.

What do the crash reports show is the failing module?

This grid of images. Do the images overlap each other so they can be stitched? If not you would need to lay them out in a grid on a document canvas. Photomerge can not be used to do that.

    Hi Clevershot,

You've posted in the Lounge, a non-technical forum for creative conversations. Please tell us the name of the Adobe software you're using, so we can move this post to the appropriate product forum.

In general, if you're trying to merge lots of images, try breaking down the task into chunks. Maybe try 10 at a time and build an intermediate set of images that you can merge in a later step.

Split these down in to groups of 15 and it is beginning to work well.

I am running 32GB Ram and initially increased scratch disk to 500GB to try and accommodate such high volume of images.
