Photommerge not working in PS 24.5 in Windows 11

Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, reset preferences etc. Photoshop freezes if I try and open Files>Automate>Photomerge. My work around is to export images as layers from LR and use Align. The dialogue box isn't quite the same as creating panoramas with Photomerge, has fewer options. I also tried to use Photomerge in the new beta edition and it also froze.
