Question

Photos extremely grainy after saving

This past week I have noticed an issue with files I save in photoshop. While I have them open in Photoshop, they look clear and crisp. When I open the file elsewhere on my computer, or when a client downloads from their gallery, they are extremely grainy.

I have not changed any settings in Photoshop.

My operating system (windows 10) recently updated, but this problem occurred both before and after that update.

To see if it would fix the problem, I updated Photoshop CC, and I also manually reset my Photoshop preferences. There is no difference.

This morning I opened a file that had been saved directly from camera raw in bridge. It is clear when opened from the file on my computer.

I then went back into bridge, took the same file and opened it in photoshop. I made no changes, but saved the photo. When I open that file on my computer, it is extremely grainy.

I am very far behind on editing and this particular issue is causing a lot of stress. Does anyone have any help for me?

Please post a screenshot of the image open in Photoshop at View > 100% and open in »elsewhere«.

    Here are some example screenshots.

The first 2 are in photoshop and in my computer's photo viewer after the photo has been edited.

The 2nd 2 are saved without editing after importing into photoshop and saving...first one being the screenshot of PS, the second of my computer's photo viewer.

I asked for a screenshot of the image at View > 100%.

And I fail to discern noteworthy graininess in the non-Photoshop screenshot.
