photoshop 2017 win 10 x64 stopped working

After a clean install of win 10 x64 cc photoshop 2017 stopped working. The forum suggested renaming a file LavasoftTcpServer64.dll to oldLavasoftTcpServer64.dll. This worked for photoshop but killed after effects.

Adobe support Himanshu B. solved it quickly by uninstalling an app named lavasoft web companion through my control panel. Now all is good. Himanshu B deserves a raise.
