Question

Photoshop 2020 Local auto-save never works is it a bug or not ready.

I noticed even though you set Local auto-save (I don't want to use the cloud for autosave)

in your preferences. - file handling.

The set folder is always empty, NEVER do any autosave even though the auto-save button is ticked and it's every 10 minutes.

I don't know if this is a Bag, or photoshop is not done yet and has to wait for updates to make it work properly.

Is anyone know the way around it? OR, Photoshop just doesn't do it yet...?

Autosave is crash recovery, nothing else. In a normal shutdown the autosave file is deleted. You don't need it because you have already saved the file.

So normally the autosave folder is supposed to be empty.

Thank you for your guidance! I guess I mistakenly thought the latest photoshop finally allowed us autosaving just like Aftereffects and files will be saved to that folder (but suppose to be empty)

Are you sure your Auto recovery is not working and is set in your preferences?  The Folder is normally empty. Only when there are open document in photoshop with unsaved changes do do recovery file get added into the folder if the un-saved changes are around longer than the auto recovery times preference setting in your user ID photoshop versions preferences.. Photoshop 2020 is working one mt Windows machine.

Thank you, I guess I misunderstood about the 2020 new feature (and I was too excited)

. I mistakenly thought Photoshop finally enabled the auto-save function (just like aftereffects does).

It seems that was not the case. I hope it will in the future.

Thanks for your explanation.
