Photoshop 2020 Mouse Unresponsive on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

I am running Photoshop 2020, latest update, on a Mac running High Sierra 10.13.6.  I am processing small (20-50 mb) files using two actions that I have used for quite some time with different iterations of Photoshop.  At random intervals photoshops stops responding to mouse commands - moving layers, selecting different tools, while still responding to keyboard commands.  I have deselected the GPU processor and increased the RAM to 85%.  If I quit and restart everything works until it doesn't.  Any ideas?

Thanks

I have not had a recurrence of the problem.  My best guess at the moment is that it was not a problem with Photoshop per se but with the communication between Photoshop and the Canon printer plug-in.  I reinstalled the latest plug-in and haven't had any problems since.

Hi Thomas,

Sorry to hear about the performance issues with Photoshop 2020, could you please let us know how much RAM does your computer have?

Also, could you please try enabling "Legacy compositing" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

Regards,
Sahil

I have 16 GB of memory.  I am trying legacy compositing.

Thanks
