Photoshop 2020 shows blank screen on macOS Catalina

my photoshop just shows a blank screen uponopening the application. i am able to create a new file using legacy "new document" interface, but am unable to save the psd files. my photoshop can't quit unless i select "dont save". i have tried solutions listed down below to no avail. i've also reinstalled many times and tried the cleaner tool.i have assignments due soon so please help!!
