Photoshop 2020 v21.1.3 Freezing When Using Any Brush Tool

Hey all!

So ever since I updated my Mac to the latest version of Catalina and also updated photoshop it's been barely usable. It will work fine for a few images, then as soon as I notice my tablet not using the Hand tool properly (lags all over the screen) I know as soon as I use the dodge tool, mixer brush, etc it will give me the rainbow wheel of death and I have to force quit. For it to work properly again I have to restart my entire computer.

I've tried a few of the work arounds that people have suggested on the forum, but so far nothing has worked. This may be my operating system not even Photoshop, but some insight would be greatly appreciated!
