Also you are not forced to update, you can turn "auto-updates" off. (See the link below)

You can also revert to your previous version if a reset doesn't work, and it is a good idea to keep previous versions and you may want to keep your old settings.. While this guide suggests turning on "auto-update", I leave it off and decide if and when I need to install them. I don't want work put on hold because an update did not work out. I always keep one major previous version (ex. 2023).

So here is the guide to getting back your old version:

Thank you, I did reinstall photoshop 2023.
however the problems with 2024 continue to exist after a reset.

Still working on this and I will figure it out, if it is possible.
I am afraid that this is in the same arena of updating my iphone IOS and suddenly all my notifications are a NEW TONE that I cannot hear… and it is impossible to change!
change is not always a good thing.

thank you for your input.

I will figure it out

Can we help you figure it out? In your first post, you wrote, "Now I cannot use any of the tools, features, nothing, everything is grayed out, I cannot even save."

A screenshot of your entire workspace would help us. Without seeing that, the most common reason everything is grayed out is that you started to Crop, Type, Transform, etc., and the options bar is waiting for you to Cancel or Commit. But it could be something else.

What format do you want to Save into? If you don't see it listed, you can use Save a Copy or edit your Preferences.

I'm just guessing on both of these and it could be something else altogether.  We'll wait for the screenshots, but you don't have to figure this out alone.

For your iPhone, go to Settings, swipe down to display the text box, and type "Sounds".

Repeat for "Notifications" if you want to. All of my Notifications are set to "OFF".

@defaultsomc8omh6m2f try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to backup your settings before doing the preference reset
