Photoshop 2024 brush cursor has an empty margin about 25% wide around the edge of the brush shape

My brushes suddenly stopped applying the complete brush (cursor) shape and started to only apply about 75% leaving an empty margin around the cursor rim. This makes it guess work to use a brush on a mask or even to draw accurately. I have checked settings, re-installed PS and macOS Sonoma, re-installed brushes etc., all to no avail. Any suggestions?

    Just solved the problem - pointer not set to normal in the Accessibility - Display setting on my Mac! Order is restored to the universe!
