Photoshop 2024 install problem: all fonts deleted from Adobe

I installed Photoshop 2024 and when opening all my presets, brushes, fonts etc were gone.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop 2023, but that presented the same issue.

The fonts were also missing from my FontBook. I redownloaded the fonts, installed them in FontBook and restarted Photoshop 2023 twice, but still, nothing was appearing.

It seems the bug deleted my Font folder in Library > Application Support > Adobe. I've remade the folder and added the required fonts to it as a solution but will take a long time to update!

Fonts should stay if they were properly installed in the system fonts folder.

Brushes, actions, presets etc are version specific, and that's the way it has always worked. It's not a bug. These should always be saved out and kept in a safe place. It's not just updates to a new version, they will also be lost if you need to reset preferences, which can happen to the best of us.

There is a checkbox to migrate settings in the installer, but I don't know what's included there (I never do that).

And then there are two other options in the installer you should note. One, turn off auto-updates. You'll still get a notification. Two, turn off "remove old versions". You may want to keep it around until you know everything is as it should be.
