Photoshop 22.0.0 - "Save As..." -> "Replace" does not overwrite file as expected. (Mac 10.15.6)
Major bug from 21.x.x still exists in latest release.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a document with layers. Use the Save As... command to save as a JPG.
- Make changes to document. Click "Save As..." save as JPG using the same name.
- OS will ask if overwriting the file. Click "Overwrite."
- PS will ask about jpg settings.
- File is saved with " copy" appended to name, it does not overwrite file as indicated.
This bug appears anytime a file with layers is being saved without layers. This includes PNG, TIFF, and even PSD files.
This bug breaks dynamic linking. And causes a lot of stress and anxiety.
This bug also has it's own bug. If you name your file "Untitled-1 copy.jpg" and attempt to save over it, the file will be overwritten as the program warns. Basically adding " copy" to your filename causes Photoshop to work the way it has worked up until version 21.x.x. This causes a problem for anyone who expect the app to not overwrite files, even when it tells you it will. (Which should be no one, but this is the internet.)
