Photoshop 22.x on Big Sur is a bust

Since installing 22.x on Big Sur, I've had so many problems that I've had to reinstall 21.x. 

 

1) file windows up small, and you have to use command +1 to resize the window to see the full image. 

2) healing brush is broken. after using the healing brush, the grey brushmark never goes away. You need to use the space bar, or open/close the window to see if it "healed". It lags. It's too annoying to even use. 

3) PS lags. It's slow. Especially healing tools, quick mask. 

 

I've had to reinstall 21.x. Honestly version 22.x is the worst upgrade I've ever had. It's broken so many things it's not usable. I have PS installed on four Macs, and all display varying degrees of this behaviour.

Hi,

 

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop 2021 on your Mac. Would you mind sharing the exact version of macOS you're running on the computer? Do you experience the issues with all versions of Photoshop 2021?

 

Please ensure that Photoshop has the necessary permissions on your Mac by following the mentioned below:

1. Go to the System Preferences for your Mac, then Security and Privacy, then select the Privacy tab.

2. Then select Accessibility from the list to the left & check if Photoshop is added to the list with a check mark in front of it.

3. If Photoshop is not a part of the list, please add it by unlocking the window first using the lock at the bottom left, then clicking the + icon & navigating to the Applications folder.

4. Also, grant permissions to Photoshop under Full disk access located in the same list as Accessibility.

5. Once done, restart the Mac & check if it helps.

 

Also, go to the Preferences of Photoshop 2021, then Technology Previews & enable the option to Deactivate Native Canvas. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop before testing.

Also sometimes document windows will turn black. You need to move the window around, zoom in and out to get your image back. Sometimes documents open with the window showing a trasparent background (the checkers) but nothing else. Zoom in and out to get the image to appear.
