Question

Photoshop 23.1 crashing while trying to print on Windows

In my PS 23.1.0 Print command (or Ctr-P ) does not work. Then the PS closes after a long moment. Recently I installed the latest driver for my Epson L8180 printer - could this possibly be related?

Here is some general Adobe [Mac and Win] info on printing problems,

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-printing-problems.html

Simple reset: hold the space bar when you open the print window. It resets the print dialogs

if that doesn’t help -

Perhaps try resetting Photoshop preferences?

Resetting restores Photoshop's internal preferences, which are saved when Photoshop closes. If they become corrupt then various issues can occur.

Here’s some info on how to do that:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

And

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/quick-tips-how-to-reset-photoshop-preferences/td-p/12502668

You may want to backup your settings and your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences.

Here is general info that:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#BackupPhotoshoppreferences

Also take a look at the following article and check if that helps:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/printing-color-management-photoshop1.html

It may even be time to reinstall Photoshop.

Use the Adobe CC cleaner tool to remove all traces first.

Uninstall Photoshop BUT make sure to choose the option “Yes, remove app preference”.

Once that process finishes, start the installation process and look into the “Advanced Options”. Uncheck “Import previous settings and preferences” and choose to “Remove old versions”.

I hope this helps

Before resetting preferences try holding down the spacebar and clicking on print. That resets the print dialogues.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop while trying to print. If you started experiencing the issue right after updating the drivers, then it might be related. You can try completely uninstalling & re-installing the printer drivers to check if that makes a difference.

You can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset_preferences

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#BackupPhotoshoppreferences

Let us know how it goes!

Hi,

many thanks! I reseted preferences and it helped! 🙂

However when I changed again preferences to my previous one (which I made back up at the beginning), it caused the same mistake with Print command. So, I reseted these preferences again and adjusted every settings to my favorit :). Additional positive result is that Photoshop works much more quickly now than before!
