Photoshop 23.2 extreme stutter and input lag after hitting Alt key

Hello everybody,

in the latest version of Ps I have the problem, that after I hit the Alt key, Ps becomes extremely laggy and stutters when moving the mouse/stylus... It's unusable from that point on. Deactivating the hardware acceleration didn't help. Since it worked in the last versions without any flaws, I don't think it's a hardware issue. You can see it in the attached video. First moving the cursor is very smooth. After hitting the Alt-key, it begins to stutter extremely.

My system has following configuration:

- Intel Core i9 10900K

- 128 GB RAM

- 2TB Samsung EVO SSD

- Windows 10 64-bit

- Wacom Intuos Pro M

Thanks for your help in advance.

Best regards,

Jens

Saw the solution in another thread.

1. Go to Preferences -> Technology Preview

2. Deactivate "Enable Native Canvas Rulers"

That worked fine for me.

I have exactly the same problem but deactivating "Enable Native Canvas Rulers" didn't do the trick. The cursor still stutters massivly and the clone stamp tool for example is unuseable. When you press ALT once (or hold it pressed), the mouse beginns to stutter (in the top menu 'Filter', '3D' etc letters are underlined) and it won't stop unless your press ESC or ALT again. The stutter stops temporarily when the cursor is moved to my second screen but begins to stutter again when moved back in the main Photoshop window.

Hello

I have exact the same problem, but the fix with deactivating the "Enable Native Canvas Rulers" worked for me as well! 🙂

Happy again........!

Disabling "Native Canvas Rulers" worked like a charm!
