Photoshop 23.5.1 Crashes When Opening a Photo

Hi,

My Photoshop crashes when I try to add a photo or when I try to open photoshop from a photo. I'm currently using macOS Monterey 12.6 on a MacBrook Pro (16-inch), Apple M1 Max.

I've tried the following to troubleshoot to no avail.

1. uncheck gpu graphics

2. reset photoshop preferences

3. deactivate native canvas

4. no plugins installed

5. reinstalled Photoshop

Please help. My photoshop and subscription has been useless because I haven't been able to open a photo for the past few months.

Hi@teneilleg3494316, I'm sorry to hear about the crashing, and it seems as if you've already tried a lot of fixes, so I can imagine it's frustrating. Are you able to submit your crash reports with your email address? Did you try the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool? Are you running version 23.5.1? Were you stable on an earlier version? Maybe roll back for the time being if you were. Have you contacted Adobe Support yet with a ticket? Another idea is if you can launch Photoshop, under the Help menu, select System Info, and then copy/paste the text in a reply here, and we can see your exact system specs. We'll do our best to try to help you get up and running again.

Yes, I am running version 23.5.1.

I tried reinstalling... and installing a previous version. It wouldn't run correctly. I kept receiving a message that said I needed to update.
