Question

Photoshop 24.01 freezing when I open color libraries from Tint in a Black & White Adjustment Layer

When I open Color Libriaries from anywhere else, it's fine.

I create a new Black & White Adjustment layer, checkmark the Tint option in Properties, click on the color box to bring up the Color picker, then select Color Libriaries and it freezes photoshop everytime.  I've had to hard quit x5 times now and tried it again and same thing each time.

I did just try and do it with new file and it worked fine, so I;m guessing something seems to be weird with the photo I'm editing?  It did start out as a .jfif file (from client) and I thought that was weird, but saved the project as a .psd and have been editing fine, so what is going on?

Here on the Mac side it's reproducible by using a png that is created when taking a screenshot via Shift-Cmd-3

Photoshop 2023 (ps ver 24.0.1) running on macOS Ventura 13.0.1 Mac Studio,

Also happens on a 2012 MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey 12.6.1 and photoshop 2023 (ps ver 24.0.1) when creating a new document of the Default 7 in x 5 in size

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

What is your system specification? Does converting the file to a jpeg work fine? As this is happening with a single file, it seems there's something with it. Would you mind sharing the file as DM?

We're here to help, just need some info.

Thanks,

Ranjisha

So I tried this with multiple files, all .jpeg and .png and some files work and some don't??  I can't find a correlation.  Will attach a .jpeg that works and one that doesn't.  Also my Photoshop System Info.
