Photoshop 25.1 Smart Object ?

Hi,

I seem to have a smart object showing on every adjustment layer since upgrading to Photoshop 25.1. Is this supposed to happen? Is it possible to turn this off and keep  the normal layers? Thanks!

    I just spoke with Adobe Support. Apparently it is not a smart object but a layer thumbnail. Mostly it interferes while I'm working. This is the default but they are hoping to remove it on the next update..
