Photoshop 6.0 can't arc text error states font uses faux bold

I've been able to do this before. No matter what font I select and even remove the bold still get error

You have photoshop 6 circa 2001 or photoshop cs6 circa 2012?

What operating system?

Regardless of which one you have that usually means one has Faux bold enabled in the Character Panel.

Window>Character
