This is not your fault…it is very confusing because of the way Adobe set it up.

You are using Lightroom Classic, not Lightroom (cloud).

Lightroom Classic stores photos on local storage.

But…

Lightroom Photos is cloud storage only. So when you look at the Lightroom Photos list in Photoshop, that contains only images that are synced to the cloud. That is why you see nothing: Lightroom Classic stores photos to local storage, not the cloud, so it is not sending images to Lightroom Photos, so they do not appear in Lightroom Photos.

If you want to see those Lightroom Classic images in Lightroom Photos in Photoshop, you must sync them to Lightroom Photos cloud storage. After you do that, you will see the images in the Lightroom Photos list in Photoshop. To sync, use these instructions:

Sync Lightroom Classic with Lightroom ecosystem

(If you were using cloud Lightroom (not Lightroom Classic), all images would be listed in Lightroom Photos in Photoshop, because cloud Lightroom stores all images in the cloud.)

For Lightroom Classic, you might want to do it this way instead:

If you want a direct route from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop that does not rely on an Internet connection and cloud storage, do not sync Lightroom Classic photos to the cloud and do not use the Lightroom Photos list in Photoshop.

Instead, use the simpler steps below:

In the Library module Grid view, or in the Filmstrip, select one or more photos.

Choose Photo > Edit In > Edit In Adobe Photoshop.

Another reason you want to do it that way is when you finish editing in Photoshop, Lightroom Classic automatically adds the Photoshop versions and updates the catalog with the changes.

Wec approach the heart of the problem. I have thank you, I am new on Adobe and I am a little bit lost. I sync. takes time.

I need the photos on lightroom because I do a book on BLURB and I need to send them via Lightroom/

So, I would like to store the photo , ready to be published, in Lightroom.

It all depends where you started. If you started in Lightroom and used the 'Edit in Photoshop' menu, then the result should automatically be saved back to Lightroom if you hit 'Save' in Photoshop and then close it. That applies to both versions of Lightroom. If you started in Photoshop, then you must save the file to disk and then import it in Lightroom. That too applies to both versions.

Yes, that's right. I just assumed starting in Lr, but after many years here I should know better than assuming 🙂

That depends a bit on whether you save to cloud or to local hard drive. From Photoshop you can choose this from the Save dialog (with a "don't show again" box if you consistently do one and not the other).

Assuming the latter, saving to local disk, make sure you have Lightroom Classic installed, not Lightroom (cloud based). Then you just Save (not Save As) from Photoshop, and it will automatically appear in LrC. You don't need to do anything - except that Lightroom has to be open when you save.

All this is run by a background script that that tracks the file and adds it to the Lightroom catalog. It's important to understand that the file isn't "in" Lightroom. It's just saved to disk like any other file. The Lightroom catalog is a database that knows where the files are, so that they can be retrieved, as well as a record of what adjustments are performed.
