Question

Photoshop (and Photoshop beta) fail to launch on MacBook M2 Max

Both Photoshop and Photoshop beta were working perfectly on my new Macbook M2 Max. Now however I can't get either to launch unless I hold down the shift key to skip plugins. I don't have any plugins installed.

Things I've tried that have not worked:

1) The command/shift/option boot to reset preferences

2) Disable Native canvas

3) Complete uninstall of entire Adobe CC suite along with removal of all Adobe entries from Library folder.

4) Use of Creative cloud cleaner tool with 'Clean all' option.

5) Check for Full disk access, accessibility etc in preferences.

If I don't hold down shift the load screen gets as far as 'Reading preferences' and just disppears. I was getting crash reports prior to the uninstall/reinstall, but now it just disppears as if I'd never launched it. Start of the old crash report read thus:

Do you have a stable internet connection? Photoshop comes with default plugins for filters, etc. Some require an internet connection.
