Whch version of Photoshop?

Have you tried resetting the Photoshop preferences, which you can do under the General tab in Photoshop preferences?

After you've Select > Subject are you applying a Layer Mask? (Describe what happens when you do).

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. It would be helpful if you could go to the Help menu in Photoshop, then System info & copy & paste the information here.

You can try adding Photoshop to the Accessibility list on macOS & Full disk access using the steps suggested here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/quick-tips-learn-how-to-give-full-disk-access-to-photoshop-on-macos/m-p/12889716

If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset_preferences

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#BackupPhotoshoppreferences

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj
