Photoshop can´t open EXR files

i save EXR files from different 3D programs and they work in all my applications..... except adobe.

it is impossible to open a multi-channel EXR on photoshop 2020 (crash each time).

it is mentioned in that thread that size maybe is an issue. but that´s not the problem here.

even files with just 300MB can´t be opened in photoshop.

is there any trick to make this work.
instead of relying on a third party plugin to make adobes software usable?
