Photoshop CC 20.0.4 crashes consistently

After an update to 20.0.4, my Photoshop crashes consistently (few times daily).  It always happens when I click on the Character dialog to change font.  I've noticed other threads in the forum noting the same issue.  I was just wondering whether there has been an update yet to address this particular concern.  It makes working on documents nearly impossible.  Thanks much.

    • Could you please let us know the operating system you're working on?
    • Did Photoshop start crashing after a certain update?

    Troubleshoot fonts issues in Adobe Photoshop CC, 2015, 2014, CS6, CS5


    If that doesn't help then please try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and let us know how it goes.
    Please check the steps here: Preferences in Photoshop

    Note: Please back up all your custom brushes, presets & actions before restoring the preferences back to default.

    Hi, and thanks for your reply.

    Strangely enough, it was some of my fonts.  I followed the directions in the Troubleshooting link you've provided, and I had duplicate Arial fonts that must have been causing the crash.  I've deleted those fonts and PS hasn't crashed since.  Thanks for your help.
