Photoshop CC 2015/2017 locking up computer in Sierra

Has anyone else experienced CC locking up their computer?

I upgraded to Sierra a few months ago when it came out, and because CS6 isn't compatible, I was forced to upgrade to CC.

Ever since using 2015, Photoshop has a tendency to lock up my computer. Full on, 100% seized, hard reboot, locked up. The only thing that works is the mouse moves.

I reinstalled the OS. Deleted and reinstalled CC. Upgraded to 2017. The only thing left is to wipe my hard drive, do a fresh reinstall of the OS, and start over from scratch. But even the techs at Apple don't think that will help.

The lock up is completely random. It hasn't always happened in PS, but it does happen the most in PS (about 98% of the time).

Sometimes it doesn't lock up at all, sometimes just once or twice a day, and other times, it has happened 5 times in one hour.

I have updated CC, OSX, everything. Nothing seems to work, but I also can't figure out what causes it because it never does it the same way every time. Sometimes the mouse gives me the spinny wheel, sometimes it's still just the arrow.

It's happened while using Safari, or Lightroom. And usually while watching a movie on Netflix on my dual monitor with Chrome or VLC.

Anyone have any ideas, or experience with this? Because Apple Care has already had to get the engineers involved because it has been going on for 2 months now. And NEVER happened with El Capitan and CS6.

Everything is up to date.

    Hi Mr_Critterfur,

You may be running so many applications at the same also, have tried using another user account because sometimes you may not have proper permissions on your user account.

Please refer the below link to optimize the Photoshop performance.

    Optimize performance Photoshop CC

    Thanks,

I was using the Admin account.

It hasn't happened in months now. So I think the issue may finally be fixed.
