Photoshop CC 2015.5 +Nik collection

After upgrading to 2015.5 and reinstalling the Nik collection most of the filters work. Analog Efex Pro 2 and Sharpener Pro 3 don't function. I get "The command "unknown" is not currently available" . I uninstalled and reinstalled the collection with the same problem. I'm on a Win 10 machine.

Reinstalling didn't seem to help me on my Mac, but I was able to fix it as follows:

- copy the following folder /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015/Plug-ins/Google

- paste it into the following folder /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5/Plug-ins

- close and re-open your Photoshop => Nik filters are back and seem to be working!

I had the same problem with Nik collection. I uninstalled Nik and got a new download. After installing, Nik collection is available in Photoshop filters.

I ran into this same issue several weeks ago, but had international travel before I could resolve it. I tried everything suggested in this forum without success. Today I finally resorted to calling Adobe support and suffering through a phone support experience with a foreign tech, which was not pleasant. After everything she told me to do did not produce the desired result, she simply informed me it was not Adobe's fault that the plug-ins were not compatible with CC 2015.5 and I would have to wait for Google to update the Nik suite! Obviously this is unsatisfactory, so I asked how I could get CC 2015.0 back. Fortunately she was able to help me navigate the CC menus to find the previous versions and I'm now installing 2015.0 with my fingers crossed. There really is no excuse for Adobe releasing an update without fully disclosing that the update will likely break all installed plug-ins and that one should only proceed if plug-ins are not an important part of your processing workflow. An update such as this shouldn't be released until major players who write plug-ins are given the opportunity to work with Adobe to prepare accompanying updates. This is esp important if the Adobe update includes new structure under which existing third party software will not function. If Adobe wants to be the tools of the professional they must be professional in how they release their products.

I had the same problem but while re installing NIK added custom path for Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5, by default it is looking only for CC 2015 (older version) folder

Hi

Did this work in a Windows system? If so could you elaborate on what you did so I can give it a try. Following this thread it is hard to figure out what was done and if it was for a MAC or a Windows machine. Thank you for your help. Right now I am using the older 2015 version of Photoshop CC just to have NIK work.

Yes, it works for me. You must change the folder like this "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5\Plug-ins"

I still have an issue with Color Efex but at least the filters are back.

I can't get any 3rd party plugins to install at all. Nada, rien, stuff all. Bye bye Photoshop and Adobe. What a pile of kak. Life really is too short. Affinity will be out for Windows in a few months, which is nice.

Ok I solved my NIK collection problem. Since removing the Nik collection and reinstalling it didn't help I removed PS, reinstalled it then added Nik back and all is working as before.

I moved my plugins instead of reinstalling and am having a different problem with the Nik Collection. Whenever I select "BRUSH" from the plugin (any of them), after every brush stroke I get the error message about having to apply the effect - TWICE. Otherwise it works, but this is annoying to have to click OK twice to continue. I guess this is the beginning of the end for the Nik Collection.

I'm having the same problem.  When using any filter with the brush command, I receive a warning after EVERY brush stroke about applying the effect.  I have to hit the "OK" twice for every stroke I use.  I have uninstalled the collection and re-installed through the control panel.  I hate to completely uninstall/reinstall the program as well.  Have you found a solution?

Hi.

I copy all the plugins from previous Adobe Photoshop to the new folder "Plug-ins" this work for Nik Collection, Topaz & Aurora HRD. But following the instructions of ON1 software, I downloaded the version they say 10.5.1 and not working.

Same issue here. All plugins are gone. Nik, OnOne, Dr. Brown's Services. WHY does this happen after every update/upgrade???? I am on Mac 10.11.5

because adobe thinks we are all jobless and have enough time at hand.

and don´t believe that BS that this is a "new version" and therfore needs a complete new installation.

it is just easier that way for adobe... in the end the customers are wasting their time... and that costs adobe ZERO!
