Photoshop CC 2017 Freezes When Starting New File

Photoshop freezes when I try to start a new file/project... Nothing happens at all, I have to force quit the application with task manager. Can anybody help? I'm on Windows 10.

I just saw this on the InDesign forum, and the OP solved it by resetting preferences. Give it a try, and please come back and let us know.

I got on Photoshop and this appeared:

I don't know how this appeared, but it works now. I am not sure if you have the correct answer because I didn't get around to trying that.

probably you have a problem with your graphic card driver or GPU acceleration. Please Try to check or update the driver

R-click the PS icon and try "running as administrator"

Running photoshop as administrator did not work.

Does the task manager show that Photoshop is active or not responding?

It does say that Photoshop is not responding in the task manager.

Is Photoshop using CPU cycle or just haung not responding to anything. Is windows, Photoshop and your device drivers up to date?
