Photoshop CC 2017: Is there a way to resize artboard to selection?

When not working with artboards in Photoshop, the canvas can be cropped to selection simply by:

- Making a selection

- Choosing Crop from the Image menu.

Can I do something similar with an artboard? Make a selection and choose somewhere "Resize artboard to selection"?

Thanks!

You can't do it is elegantly as you are hoping to. In other words not straight off a selection. You would have to create a new layer based on the selection, then created new artboard based on that layer, copy the other layers into the new board, and delete the old one. You can create a action that will help you do this quicker. Just always think of artboards in photoshop as a fancy group.

If you right click on the layer/s, and select art board from layer/s.

That should do the trick.

Thanks Grant.

You mean create a new artboard from layers? That's not what I was looking for: I want to use a selection (and not layer(s)). And to resize an existing artboard (not move things to a new artboard).
