Question

Photoshop CC 2019 freezing on "Save as" dialog

Photoshop totally freezes immediately after opening the "Save as" dialog, file list and buttons "Save" and "Cancel" are not displayed on dialog window.

3 processes - CoreSync.exe, explorer.exe, photoshop.exe gets together about 50% of CPU usage (Intel Core i7 8700-K).

When i kill CoreSync.exe and turn off file synchronization in Creative Cloud app, freezing disappears, file saving works normal.

Photoshop have most stupid file saving of all time ever. For a long time, about 15 years, Adobe applications freezes when some files were opened from network folder a few hours ago, and network folder become unavailable. Adobe says: “Adobe Systems does not provide support for networks and removable media.” Absolutely stupid thing! Now file saving freezes when i try to use Abobe Creative Cloud Sync for file synchronization. Thank you so much, Adobe, for the best network features!

Networks can have problems.  Opening and saving files work if you network is working reliably.  Adobe is absolutely not stupid its not your network provider Adobe can not provide support for you network problems.  You are using other developer software you not using Adobe's network software.

If you have a Problem in Photoshop with "Save As" when CoreSync.exe is running you should submit a Problem report to Adobe on their Feedback Site.  See if Adobe will respond to your bug report.  This is a User forum  not Adobe support we do not work for Adobe and can not fix Adobe bugs. Please use this link and report your problems to Adobe Photoshop Family Customer Community

    Networks can have problems.

Adobe can not provide support for you network problems.

When saving currently created work to a new file on local disk, this saving should be a first priority process, and nothing should block this. Сtrl+S work fine, Ctrl+Shift+S freezes for many reasons over many years. When i go to "File"->"Save as", Adobe should save my file first, and only after that they can look for unnecessary recent files, that were opened from network and closed many hours ago, do file synchronization and other stupid things.

Troubleshoot issues with networks, removable media in Photoshop

    Recommended workflow

Technical Support strongly recommends working in Photoshop directly on the local hard disk. To prevent data loss, save files to your hard disk first.

OK. Good advice. I try my best.

Then transfer them to the network or removable drive in the Finder or in Windows Explorer. To retrieve files, copy them in the Finder or in Windows Explorer from the network or removable drive to your hard disk. You can then open the files in Photoshop.

I hope you realize you are not dealing with Adobe here. These are user forums. Advice here come from Photoshop users like you.  If Save AS is freezing on you for many reasons you should identify those reasons and submit bug reports to Adobe on their Feedback site. Photoshop Family Customer Community .  Save AS should not Hang or Freeze.  Save AS can take some time saving large documents. Photoshop supports huge files sizes and data compression can take time compression all your layers.  I have been using Photoshop for more that 20 years and can not say the I have seen problems with save as freezing and hanging in my use. However, I no not create huge layered image files. Photoshop's performance with huge document with hundreds or thousands of layers is not something I want to deal with. If a project requires hundreds of layers and gigabytes of data its to complex for my little mind.

I believe that Saving is done as a background task so  you can continue to work on other open documents and open other document while a large files is being saved. Not freeze you out till the save completes.

What conditions  cause Save AS to hang or freze when you use Photoshop?
