Photoshop CC 2019 - I NEED to disable the start page!
So the all-new 'nifty' start page in PS 2019 lists all of the recent files, and it seems it's not possible to disable it. This is REALLY a problem, and I wonder how nobody at Adobe thought about the consequences in a professional environment.
Why is this a problem? A few thoughts:
- When having a client looking over my shoulder, I don't want him to see any of the files I've been working on recently. For example, what if I'm working for a competitor, too? I certainly don't want to let client A know what client B does. I could be easily sued for that by client A, thanks to Adobe.
- NDAs. I regularly work on images that fall under a NDA. By listing the files as thumbnails or even as files names, I may be violating a NDA if someone who's not supposed to know about a project happens to see a file name or image thumbnail.
- In a professional environment, I may have worked on my private images recently. Thanks to Adobe, my boss can easily look at the stuff I've been working on. Yes, he probably can find out by tracking my activities with the help of IT, but still, I need to be able to disable the start page.
I hope Adobe delivers a quick fix for this. It's unbelievable their UX designers don't think about the implications of a feature like the start page. Adobe, if you really respect your users' privacy and security, you really couldn't have failed more.
