Photoshop closes when using Camera Raw Filter brush mask after Windows 11 update last night

Issue: Photoshop closes every time when using the Camera Raw Filter mask ever since the Windows 11 update last night (2024-05 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5037591) ). This happens when I use the brush masking tool, sometimes while painting it on, other times after painting and trying to adjust sliders in the Light section. There is no warning, Photoshop just completely quits.

  • Photoshop version:  Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.7.0 20240415.r.504 130b225 x64
  • OS: Windows 11 Home, PC

I have have rebooted with the same result.

I have made sure Photoshop has the most current update with the same result.

I have tried it on multiple images of different sizes with the same result.

I have tried it on both .jpg and .png images with the same result.

@wildmaven if the above doesn't help, try resetting your ACR preferences

Have you tried to reset the preferences of Photoshop?

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences. You can check:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences

If this doesn't help provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.
