Photoshop color standard

Why has phootshop started to approve the images from Lightroom both jpg and raw, is there a setting I can set so that it does not ask to be set to Photoshop fave standarts

That warning has no useful purpose. Luckily it can be disabled.

 

I don't think the ProPhoto default in Lightroom is a particularly good idea either. For most people it causes more problems than it solves. You really shouldn't use ProPhoto unless you're well aware of the implications. The way it's phrased in the Lightroom preferences, an innocent beginner will get the impression that you better choose ProPhoto, or else face the consequences. That's misleading.

 

Defaults should be for beginners. Experienced users who really need ProPhoto, will know where to find it without hand-holding.

    I am guessing that you are getting this dialog in Photoshop when opening an image from Lightroom.

     

     

    To stop that from happening, go to Edit > Color settings in Photoshop, and set Color management policies up like this.

     

     

    There is no need to convert to the working space, Photoshop will honor the embedded profile, and display the image correctly-

    If you are sending files from Lightroom to Photoshop in ProPhoto, change this in Lightroom's preferences to Adobe RGB or sRGB. Edit > Preferences > Performance > External editing. Only use ProPhoto if you know what you're doing.
