Photoshop crashes on an external monitor [MBP Big Sur]

Hi all. I'm new to the forum, but not new to Photoshop. I'm using a 2019 MacBook Pro with Big Sur and running Photoshop CC 20.0.10. Evertyhing works great when using my laptop, but when I connect an enternal monitor (an HP W243) I can't resize any images. As soon as the image size window pops up Photoshop crashes immediately. I've tried messing with the GPU setttings (turning them off, turning it on), but that doesn't work. I've also tried adjustting the memory usage. Again, same problem. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

Try updating to the latest version (Photoshop 23.0) and let us know if you're still having trouble.

Note, you can select to keep your current version when you update in case you want to go back:

Jeffrey, thanks for the suggestion, but unforturnately this is a company-issued laptop and if I were to update my software then my entire department will have to follow suit because we are often sharing files between coworkers. That is  something we are trying to avoid. The most puzzling part is that Photoshop works perfectly in all other aspects. I can apply layers, effects, make selections and masks etc., but I can't resize the image when using the external monitor.
