Photoshop crashes when I use the smooth option on Text

Pretty much what the title says. It started happening after I installed the latest windows update. I tried to clean reset my computer but it still keeps on crashing.

    If this happens on all fonts, then likely the windows update. If Happening with certain font, you may be using the old type 1 format.

    I would only do an OS update, after you see Adobe sends out an update, and the tech notes cover the new version.

    Are there other possible solutions? I had no issues when I tried to test the Text tool in paint.NET and I don't think I can rollback the

    windows update since I did a clean reset.

    Plenty of other possible solutions, but without more detail don't only have time to  provide a few .

    Try turning OFF open GL.

    Try opening an old file you know this is enabled already, and see if this crashes. Try to determine the exact trigger so we know what causes the crash.

    Quit Photoshop, and rename the folder here

    Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings

    to -Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings

    Changing the name will have Photoshop create a fresh new settings folder from backup within the app, when you boot next. The dash just renames the folder so you can restore if this does not help, and get your custom settings back quickly.
