Photoshop creating random "blocks"

I really don't know how to describe this, but photoshop is cutting out sections of the canvas, and keeping them on the screen until I open a new photoshop tab, or restart the application. Everything I try to draw goes behind these blocks, and they are getting really annoying. Does anyone know a fix?
