Photoshop CS4 & CS5: Fullscreen + Taskbar ?

Gogo, I feel you pain at having to explain basic computer operation to people. You are not alone in wanting to see VITAL information as you work. For soccer moms, I'm sure it's no big deal if their pirated PS, that their snot nosed haxor kid warezed for them, hides their taskbar, but for actual professionals, who need to see when they get a effen e-mail, or a skype from their bosses, or a prompt when a Maya render is complete, or the frickkin time, or if a download of a client's files are complete, or a calendar alert about a meeting with managment,  it is vital.

Yes we could hit F again, but tards, we'd like to have proper functionallity with minimum keystrokes. What Gogo is suggesting is so simple, so basic, so fundamental that it shames be to part of the same user base that would question it.

"Why not just work in windowed mode?" one amature asks, betraying the fact that he uses PS to apply the water color filter to crummy iphone pics of his overweight cats. Well, Peewee, in fit screen mode you can position the image with the edges in the center of the screen reducing neck and eye strain. "Oh ok, I'm going to go make some more rave flyers, then Dr Missile. Thanks for enlighting me!"

It worked fine in cs3 (leaving the taskbar in place) and then suddenly started covering it in cs4. This is going to sound revolutionary, but what if, just what what what what if... it only covered the taskbar in fit scree + hide menu mode. That way all the geniuses who are only able to do one thing at once wouldn't be distracted by all the pretty icons at the bottom, and Gogo and I would still be able to get actual work done. Groundbreaking right?!

Adobe, you continue to fill me with rage.

Would you care to say why it's so important?

Because the people who work with photoshop, usually use many programs at the same time (Photoshop, Illustrator, Mail client, Skype, Winamp, etc.)

So if you cant see the taskbar, you CAN'T:

- navigate quickly between the applications

- see if you have new mails, chats, phonecalls

- see what time it is

- see what language is my KBD (I'm from Bulgaria so I use both English and Bulgarian)

- etc

(For example: if I copy an object form Illustrator and I want to paste it in Ps, I can't see the taskbar -> so I have to switch to Ps by pressing "Alt+Tab". But if I have 15 open applications, to get to the Ps it'll cost me in the worst scenarios 15 hits of "Alt+Tab" )

If the taskbar WAS NOT so important, all applications would hide it , (... and they don't)

You can always toggle it into sight by pressing the F key

Yes I can, but that means that I have to press F key 3 times, just to see the taskbar!@?#!? (three times, because there are three screen modes)

This is the same thing if you look at your watch to see what time it is - to pres a button three times before the actual time appears... Not very useful
