Photoshop CS5 can't save selection

For a photo that i'm working on, i have to save some (laso) selections. Unfortunately Photoshop isn't able to save the last selection. I can only save it in a new document.

Since this problems occurs, it takes longer then usual to open the file, and Bridge doesn't show a thumbnail anymore. I updated my drivers, purged my Bridge cache, and used Ccleaner, but it doesn't help.

What could be the problem?

How many selections have you saved before it stops saving them?

I believe there is a limit of 53 for the number of channels which is what saved selections are.

I saved exactly 53 slections, so i guess that's the problem.

Thanks everyone for the help. I'll find another way to finish the photo

Can you show a screenshot of the 'Save Selection' dialog?

This is the dialog. Normally I can select the document that I'm working on.

Is the current document not an option at all, or is it dimmed?
