Photoshop CS6 freezing at startup

Hi all,

I've had the Adobe CS6 Master Collection on my PC laptop (Windows 10) since I purchased it back in 2015. I'm not a heavy using of it - only using Premiere and Photoshop when needed - but I've never had any issues with it.

I've been using Photoshop in the last week to edit an image. I open it today and it freezes on the spot. I closed the program and tried again and it still freezes. I restart my laptop and still freezes. I can neither open the .PSD file I've been working on or open the program to the main screen.

No other programs are giving me issues (Premiere, Encoder...), only Photoshop right now.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Thanks for the link. It actually started working again, so I'm in the clear for now.

Appreciate the help though!
